The anniversary of the Earthquake that rocked Haiti, last year on January 12th 2010 is coming up. While there is still evident devastation in Haiti and there are still many helpful hopefuls doing something about it. Willa Shalit and her company, Fair Winds Trading,  has managed to make shopping meaningful—a way to load up on gorgeous, exotic objects of lust while furthering peace and justice, not to mention improving lives around the world.

Despite the devastation caused by the 2010 earthquake, local Haitian artists continue to turn raw materials, such as recycled oil drums, wrought iron, paper mache and stone into art that embodies their culture. These beautiful handcrafted masterpieces, provide shelter, food and warmth to fund these devastated communities.
